[a little closer to the end of curfew, she does, in fact, get up to go drink water. and then she comes over to him, crouching unsteadily. she adjusts his blankets for him. and then reaches up to grab the dumb orange fairy who is hovering around her and places her on bixing's shoulder.

he holds very, very still for the fussy blanket adjusting - he was probably half asleep, honestly, and then when the fairy comes and pats his face, he gently reaches out and pats her on the head with one fingertip in return. bixing mumbles: ] Will you tell her I said thank you? I got in trouble. I'm counting on you.
[the fairy chirps excitedly and pat pat pats his face before zooming over to gideon, who curses very loudly when the fairy smacks her in the face with a triumphant RE!]
[ there's a sound that sounds suspiciously like bixing trying not to laugh. if gideon looks over, he's smiling at her much more genuinely and less sadly than he's done all day. ]
